30 Days of Love: Valuing Our Neighbors in the Community We Live In

It’s that time of year again!
30 Days of Love—the time when Bethel Evangelical Baptist Church goes out to show God’s love to the community of Delray Beach—is back for another month of service and ministering. It’s been a great 14 years since this series started back in 2010, when the church anniversary theme was about showing God’s love. At the time, this was a theme only in place for the week of the anniversary conference, but Pastor Evens then had a great idea—why not extend the events to the entire month? Thus, 30 Days of Love was founded.
Since then, Bethel has run many events in the month of October, including beach and street clean-ups, feeding the homeless, visiting first responders at the police and fire departments, and much more! Of course, with all of these events happening among our already chaotic schedules, it can become stressful and bring about anxiety. In recent years, Sister Filise, a licensed Mental Health Counselor, teaches us to manage these emotions through her class “Refreshing Moments”. In this weekly series, she helps us understand topics related to mental and emotional health, giving us knowledge that can leave us feeling a little more mindful—and refreshed. Through these events, both the community and the people of Bethel have felt God moving and working through us, all with the purpose of bringing bring glory to Him and showing the world what it truly means to be a child of God.
Now, in the year 2024, 30 Days of Love is all set for its return! If you’re searching for a way to get an experience in actively serving and showing God’s love to the community, look no further—there are plenty of opportunities to join! Stay up to date on the events by following our social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook, and be sure to tune in weekly to WBTLTV on YouTube, where you’ll get the latest on 30 Days of Love and learn about all the events to come for that week.
As the month progresses, we’re all ready to once again express God’s love to the community. As the Bible says in 1 Peter 4:10, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Will you be joining us?
30 Days of Love begins today, Tuesday, October 1st at 7:30pm for the annual kickoff concert. It will be a time of fellowship and amazing performances, and you will have the opportunity to sign up for the available events of the month! We hope to see you there, and we look forward to seeing how God moves through us this October!
Stay blessed!
